At Belle en Blanc we specialize in designer bridal gowns and accessories. To meet the high level service, we offer one to one appointments with highly trained consultants and stylists, and we work by appointment only.
Your bridal appointment will last about 90 min, which allows you to browse and try on our stunning collection at Belle en Blanc. The first 20 to 30 min is a friendly discussion with our consultants, to really understand your style and vision for the day, followed by a session trying on gowns. We advise 5-6 gowns per appointment. Trying more at one time might get tiring and confusing.
Please note our cancellation policy is 72 hours before the time and date of your appointment.
Saturday and evening appointments are always most in demand, so we advise you contact us in advance to secure your place. However we will always aim to see you as soon as we can. So give us a call on 021 711 0007; fill in the booking form or send us an email on rdv@belle-en-blanc.com. We look forward to seeing you soon.
What dress to start with?
You may already have an idea of the style of dress you would like, but come with an open mind and indulge in trying on many different styles. Choosing a wedding gown is not like shopping for anything else you’ve possibly ever worn before. You may be surprised at the styles that suit you and make you look and feel amazing. It’s the job of your stylist consultant to advise you and find what works best. The more open and honest you will be at your consultation, the better the result.
When to start looking for my wedding gown?
We strongly recommend to start looking for your dream gown 12 months before your wedding, and order not later than 6-8 months before your wedding. The designer gowns are handmade and take longer than off the rack dresses. To ensure the quality and precision we are proud of and you pay for – your gown should be purchased not later than 6 -8 months before your big day. This can be extended during busy bridal season, so 8 months would be ideal.
What price?
Our gowns range from 2000CHF to 12’000 CHF, and we ask that all brides who visit Belle en Blanc are happy to invest that amount in their gown and the service this level of spend entails. The majority of our clients spend happily between 3000CHF and 7000CHF on their total bridal look.
Who to bring?
Choosing a wedding gown should be a memorable, but intimate experience. Bringing all your friends and family will only confuse you, as chances are that they will not share your taste to the smallest detail, causing you more upset than help.
We experience most wonderful appointments and atmosphere with one to two people accompanying the bride. Your mother/sister and or bridesmaid are all you need to make a good choice. These people know you well and should be objective to advise you best.
But if you are in a pickle and have nobody to bring, don’t worry- our consultants are there to help, and it’s the most wonderful moment for us knowing the bride feels reassured and trusts our skills and taste.
What to bring?
We have almost all that any bride can think of. However if you have unusual shoe size or prefer your own – bringing a pair of your favourite heels is always a good idea. We also strongly suggest wearing nude underwear and strapless, or detachable straps bra.
Can I take pictures?
We work with designer gowns. All our designers worked for years to develop their unique style and signature look. This can not, and should not, be copied under no circumstances. However, we understand that having a photo of your gown can help make this important choice, thus we allow our brides to take pictures during their appointments at our boutique.
Having said that, the choice of a wedding gown should be emotional – it’s about feeling beautiful. The chances are that the standard size of the boutique sample will simply not fit you perfectly, and having an image highlighting flaws is certainly not ideal to keep you on cloud number 9 before your wedding. So please be mindful of that when looking at the pictures following the appointment.
Standard size (PAP) or MTM?
PAP- “Prêt a Porter”- your gown will be ordered in standard bridal size, e.g. 38 and require some level of alterations to fit perfectly. The alterations are done at the Belle en Blanc atelier and are charged additionally. We suggest budgeting about 10% of your wedding gown for alterations.
MTM- the Made to Measure service is offered by our own atelier for specifically made to measure gowns. This ensures that your gown is made to perfectly fit your body shape, height and form.
We charge 950 CHF for this service, which includes initial cotton form fitting, dress production and any minor “tweaks”, needed in house once the gown arrives/is finished. Please note that if you experience weight loss/gain that extends over one garment size, we are no longer able to adjust your gown under the standard MTM agreement. These cases are extremely rare, and will be discussed on individual basis.
Payment methods accepted
To order your gown, we accept a minimum payment of 50 % of the value of the purchase, which is a non-refundable deposit. We then place your order, and you have until your 1st fitment to pay the outstanding amount. We accept all major debit and credit card (3% surcharge apply) as well as e-banking and cash payments.
For our collection of Watters Bridesmaids gowns under 1000CHF and for ALL our SALES offers, we ask for full payment at the time of purchase. Sales gowns are to be collected immediately from the boutique.
Discounts?
We are very proud of our designers and service we offer during your bridal experience at Belle en Blanc. The prices of our collections are a true reflection of the level of complexity, fabrics used and hand work it demands. By asking for a discount you devalue our professionalism and their craftsmanship. We will NOT offer any discounts besides strictly defined times:
- -During SALES periods – usually twice per year in winter and the summer
- -During Designer Days – we offer either MTM service or 10% off the dress price or a mix of both.
These offers are valid only on selected items and during a limited time and are available to Belle en Blanc mailing list clients. Click here to subscribe to our offers info@belle-en-blanc.com.
Fittings and Alterations
If you ordered your gown within the recommended time frame, she should arrive in the boutique about 2 months before your wedding date. Our seamstress will call you to announce this exciting news and arrange an appointment for your fitting. You need to remember to bring the shoes you will wear on your wedding day, and any lingerie and accessories if not purchased with us.
Your first fitment will consist of “épinglage” (pinning up), measurement verifications and estimation of required adjustments. An estimate cost of the alterations will be given to you at this time.
After about 4-6 weeks you will come for verifications of the work done. Providing you didn’t experience any last minute weight change, your dress should fit perfectly. This is normally the final fitment. The final cost of work is then given, and we ask you to clear your balance at this stage.
In rare cases, should you need any additional cosmetic works on your gown, we ask that you come one more time to verify that all is perfect and your gown fits impeccably ☺
The next time you will come to Belle en Blanc will be to pick up your pressed gown and accessories for your big day, on the week of your wedding.
